The Dead Yeast Society announces our 15^th Annual homebrew contest, Bataille des Bières. It is a BJCP Sanctioned Event, and is part of the Bayou Circuit. This year we’ve upped our entry limit to 68. (because Jim is turning 68 this year!)

We use the Brew Competition software for electronic registration of entries, judges and stewards. Please visit our competition site to register your entries and for more information on what styles are accepted, shipping & drop-off locations, important dates, and other contest info. (unlike ReggieBeer, Brew Competition logins are not used among multiple club contests. While you’ll have to register an account just for Bataille des Bières, it will be re-usable from year to year.)

Scale-Up Award

There is an opportunity—open to Louisiana homebrewers only—to have your brew considered for scaling up on Adopted Dog Brewing’s 1-BBL pilot system in Lafayette, Louisiana. The sponsored style for this award will be 27 – Kentucky Common.

Adopted Dog Brewing personnel are solely responsible for selecting, from among all qualifying entries, which brew will receive the Scale-Up Award. (There is no guarantee that any brew will receive the Scale-Up opportunity; the award depends on the quality of the entries received.) This award is independent of, and not reliant upon, the BJCP judging for that style, though the brewery may consult the relevant scoresheets for each beer in making its decision.

The timing of the scale-up brew and its availability in the taproom will be determined by Adopted Dog Brewing. The brewery prefers that the winner be available on-site for the brew day and, if possible, for the public release.

Note, the registration fee is $12 because your beer will be judged in ‘beer clean’ glassware
– not plastic cups!
