2nd Annual Boot Brew Fest
Boot Brew Fest will take place at Lakeview Park & Beach in Eunice, LA.
This is a HOMEBREW FESTIVAL. The festival will provide education on the homebrewing process, as well as provide samples of home brewed beer from the brewers themselves. The Dead Yeast Society will be participating. Adrien Monteleone will be running the homebrew demonstration, which will take place from 10:00 – 2:00. The beer being demonstrated will also be available for sampling. (Adrien could use some help at the Demo Tent, so please volunteer if you can!)
The event will include an awards ceremony on Friday April 22nd at 7:00 pm for homebrews entered in the Boot Brew Fest Homebrew Competition, which is a BJCP sanctioned event. ( judging currently in progress)
Different homebrew clubs from around the state, including Dead Yeast, will provide homebrew to be served to attendees. There will a “People’s Choice” award voted on by those sampling the brews as well as a “Best Club/Tent” and an “Iron Brewer” award to whomever brings the most kegs.
More food and bands will be at “The Barn” just behind the festival after the Saturday awards ceremony. (The Pine Leaf Boys, followed by Horace Trahan & the Ossun Express)
Lodging is available, See the official festival page for more info.
Submitting a 5 gallon batch will get you free entry to the festival! This is a $40 value, and includes a free sampling cup and a food voucher.
If you plan to bring beer (there is still time to brew a quick and easy ale!) then you need to fill out the Festival Beer Entry Form. (you must be logged in to view and submit the form) This will give us the info on the brew so we can make signs (like we do for Gulf Brew) and we will also use that info to register your beer with the festival. (you can register it separately if you like, but we need the info too to print your beer signs) Please fill out the form by Wednesday April 6th so we have time to print signs. (you can still enter your beer later, but we may not get a sign printed on time, and it won’t be featured in the Festival Menu)
If there are enough of us attending, we will likely use the Club Coffin and possibly the Ice Well, otherwise, plan on bringing an ice chest, trash can, or other container to hold your beer ( they will provide ice) and a means to tap it. We have CO2, but limited means to distribute without the Coffin. So if you have your own taps, that would help.
Finally, if someone is interested in attending even just to drink and be festive, and you have a truck or trailer and can help us haul the Coffin and/or Ice Well, that would be much appreciated! Contact, Jim or Mark via the Contact Us link, above in the menu, ASAP to let them know you can help out.
