Gulf Brew 2019 Beer Menu

The following are brews we will be serving at the ACA’s Gulf Brew beer festival on July 20th, 2019 at Blackham Coliseum. This list may change right up to the start of the event as we’ll be doing ‘quality control’ sampling the night before. Some of these beers are still in production, but if they aren’t ready, we aren’t going to make you guinea pigs or rush them out the door.

Papa’s Porter (Porter - American)

A traditional American Porter with a touch of Honey

Oatmeal Stout (Stout - Oatmeal)

It’s breakfast in a glass, but tasty any time of day. It will quench you in the heat of summer, or warm you up from the chills of winter.

Smokey Hidalgo

Cerveza Vienesa con chile asados

(Vienna Ale with roasted chilies)

This brew is a take off original Mexican brewing traditions of the imported Viennese brewers brought over by Emperor Maximilian I. We made a Single Malt, Single Hop ale and spiced it up with freshly roasted Jalapeño, Poblano, dried Chipotle and Ancho peppers. The heat is just right – at the finish and in the aftertaste. It won’t light your tongue on fire, but will make you reach for that next sip.

St. Patrick’s SMaSHing Red (Red Ale - Irish)

A Single Malt, Single Hop Irish Red Ale – well balanced and dashingly red, you’ll want to drink this all day long.

Recipe designed by Adrien Monteleone for Morgan City's Basin Brew Fest 2019, held on St. Patrick's Day. It got rave reviews, including the best compliment a homebrewer can get, "I don't know much about beer, but I want to drink this all-day-long!"

Part of our St. Street SMaSH Series of beers named after one of Lafayette's well known neighborhoods, the original used Fermentis Safale S-04 dry English Ale yeast, but we went all out for you folks at Gulf Brew and this time used the proper WLP004 - Irish Ale liquid yeast.

Steamboat Shipley (California Common)

A hybrid Ale/Lager West Coast style – amber, hoppy, delicious.

D’Ville Wit (Witbier)

A refreshing Belgian style wheat brew with touch of orange peel, coriander, and chamomile.

Golden Pineapple Bomb (British Golden)

A crisp, hoppy ale with a pineapple aroma and flavor that will blow you away!

Our dry-hopped version of a traditional American Amber Ale, malty, and hoppy, it’s a brew you won’t want to put down.

Club Brew on Tony Myer's brand new 15 gallon eHERMS Spike Brewing System — practically a pro-brewer's pilot setup. This was our inaugural club 'Brew In' held in early June.
